Mike was tremendous helping us select and install an insert in our 1920s home and make it work with a very small chimney. He’s also just a great person to spend time with we and our dog looked forward to him coming over to work. If you’re not sure how to get started on a fireplace change, I’d start with this shop.

We just moved into an apartment in a retirement community. Jeanine at the Victorian Fireplace Shop helped us pick out the perfect fireplace for our new home and Mike installed it the week before we moved in. He’s meticulous and it looks great. We had planned to install 4 Chinese wood screens over the fireplace, but delayed a few weeks after Mike warned us that we need a mantle between the fireplace and screens, as well as vents in the sides of the projecting wall that holds the fireplace. We chose a straight 2” x 6” modern black metal mantel that keeps the heat from rising to the level of the screens. With the mantel and vents in place the fireplace looks and functions perfectly. We couldn’t be happier with the products, advice and installation provided by the Victorian Fireplace Shop. And the price was very fair.

Mike, Tim and Jeannine are the best. We love our two new Victorian-style gas inserts that fit perfectly with the style and size of our old coal-burning fireplaces in the Fan. The friendly, attentive and prompt service related to purchase, ordering and installation were top notch. And the beauty of the product speaks for itself. We highly recommend.

Mike (owner) and staff are extremely professional and knowledgeable. We did extensive research to find an electric fireplace insert that provided heat as well as ambiance. Dimplex Revillusion was exactly what we wanted. Mike delivered and framed out the fireplace quickly and we could not be happier. Highly recommend Victorian Fireplace Shop in Richmond,VA.

Pretty unbelievable to be honest. I didn't want to write this but I also don't want anyone else to waste their time. I went into the shop and spoke to Mike for a while regarding my fireplace plans. He asked if he could come take a look at it a week from that day on a Friday and even gave me a time. He completely ghosted me. I tried to confirm earlier in the day via email, no response. No call no show. I just can't believe when people do that. I cleared my afternoon for the meeting. 30 mins into the "scheduled appt" I decided to drive to Bon Air Hearth and they treated me with professionalism and followed up with me via email. I will be working with them.
