If I could give zero stars on this platform I would. This establishment has been nothing but a nightmare for me to deal with. I purchased a very expensive ventless fireplace from this store 4 years ago and have had issues with this fireplace after 2 years of operating fine. It's very ironic that the fireplace warranty expired about the same time. First of all, I had contractors install the fireplace and it was working fine for 2 years then just stopped working. I contacted the store to try to get someone to troubleshoot the issue and after multiple visits, I was told that the fireplace installation was wrong...interesting that it worked for 2 years but ok. So the contractors that originally installed the fireplace came back to re-install it the right way. I then called the store back because even though the fireplace was now installed the "right way" the fireplace was still not functioning. I was then told that the pilot needed to be replace which costs me about $350..on top of the almost $4000 for the original fireplace. I purchased the pilot and another visit was made to "replace" the pilot. The fireplace was functional for 3 weeks and then it started not working again. At this point I was very frustrated and called the store, I was not in the best of moods and explained how many times I have had to take off of work for someone to swing by with out having a functioning fireplace. The rude person I talked to on the phone started to challenge how many times I said visits were done as oppose to empathizing that "MY FIREPLACE STILL DOESN'T WORK". I made yet another appointment where I had to take off of work and this time it was 3 weeks in advance because I had to co-ordinate with my work schedule. When the day came for the tech to come out, I get a phone call saying the tech is sick. So here is yet another day that I took off just to not have a functioning fireplace. I tried to get off the phone with the store so that I could maintain a cordial conversation but inside I was ready to curse this person out. Of course the person says...well we have appointments as early as the next day....but I just needed to get off the phone. Instead of offering me an appointment for the next day which is a weekday where I would have to take off again...for the tech person that is miraculously going to get better...how about this store having the decency to offer an evening appointment or a weekend appointment being I am the one being inconvenienced as oppose to them. That would be decent customer service but I don't know maybe the think that because I live in Howard County and I can afford a $4000 fireplace that I can afford to sit at home all day waiting for them to show up when they please to fix a fireplace that I shouldn't have problems with after 2 years. I am so disgusted looking at this piece of crap fireplace that is non-functional. I have to now find another establishment that will get rid of this piece of expensive crap and install something that actually works. Buyer Beware....don't walk but run away from this establishment, both their products and customer service sucks!

I purchased a Harman insert and a 12-year VIP warranty from Day and Night Home and Hearth. Over the course of 12 years, the service to the Harman was ok. However, each year the service technician was someone new and usually without the proper tools e.g., broken vacuum, wire brushes missing, etc . . . , but managed to service the Harman. I would always tip the service technician, even the co-owner Jerry who services the Harman occasionally. My family wanted to support this local small business and didn't want to complain about ok service. However, over my 12 years of service, I never had a complaint that warranted me calling the manager. Last month ( August 2022) I scheduled service and planned to purchase another service warranty. I was told the service technician Scott was the "Best" person since the invention of the Harman. Scott started the process of servicing my Harman and initially told me the Harman looked good and showered me with accolades. After 20 minutes, I noticed that Scott was packing and preparing to go. I notice Scott didn't perform some of the servicing I have seen other technicians do in the past. I asked about passed processes, and Scott told me I was lucky because the technician did work they weren't authorized to do . . . so, this would include the owner, Jerry. When I shared my past observations with Scott, he immediately became angry and defensive and informed me he was a Harman-Certified Technician. I told Scott I wasn't happy with his service or his attitude. I ask to speak with his manager regarding the poor service. I spoke with the co-owner Lynn who wasn't any better than Scott. After 30 minutes of explaining to Lynn what services were provided over the 12 years, Lynn suggested I was trying to get a free cleaning service. Currently, my Harman is blowing out smooth and other debris from the poor service provided by Scott. Attached are a few pictures of the smooth, and debris left behind the Harman. This service provided by the "Certified Harman Technician" was the "Worst" experience a customer could witness. This small company needs training in customer service and consumer integrity.

I have fire!!! Amazing knowledgeable, polite and professional first class service from scheduling to the service call. Jerry fixed what three other companies could not! He went right to work diagnosing my natural gas insert fireplace and got it working better than ever! It was a bit tricky, but he was determined to get it figured out! Incredible product knowledge across all fireplace brands. I’m planning to do a Reno and I’m buying a new unit from them. Jerry and his team have been in businesses for over 30-years and it truly shows! Thank you Day or Night Hearth and Home for bringing back the beautiful glow and warmth of my fireplace! I’m a customer for life!

We LOVE our fireplace and Liz and Jerry made it happen. For over 5 years we'd been looking into getting a fireplace and received multiple quotes. We struggled to find a company that could do it all, and do it at a reasonable price. Day or Night Home & Hearth took care of it all, at a very reasonable price. We had a new fireplace built on a blank wall in only 4 days, with no home disruption. Highly recommend!

The only reason I’m not giving this company a 1 star is because we love our Green Mountain fireplace. They installed this fireplace almost 2 years ago. Just after this Christmas (2022) sparks started randomly shooting out near the blower switch. I called and emailed them the video of the sparks but they said that I should just keep the breaker flipped until they can schedule something. I waited until today, Tuesday the 4th and their initial response was that they can come and look at it on the 30th of January. I explained that I can’t have my power off to that room for so long and they said then we can get someone out there in 30 minutes “but this is a service appointment and there will be a charge of $295.” I explained that this was a fire hazard most likely due to a bad installation. And they said that it was 2 years old and no longer under warranty. Well, I told them I’d have a friend look at it and hung up. I took off the faceplate of the fireplace and checked out the wires and sure enough, there was a wire leaning against the fire box that melted. Also, didn’t know this before, but I’m not so sure their installation of an electrical outlet right there isn’t a fire hazard either. Super disappointing because I had just told a friend to go there to get their new fireplace insert.
