Initially, I could only give 4 stars because my experience was with customer care via phone. So I can’t attest to an in store experience. I am a new homeowner in the area and was aimlessly searching for whomever installed the insert that came with our home. Keith at Tinderbox verified that ours was in fact purchased from their store AND he kindly invited us into the showroom to have a tutorial of the insert so that we may get the most efficient and effective results; it certainly is a skill getting a sufficient roaring fire. Keith also took the time to explain the unit as well. Looking forward to going in… Great customer service, friendly neighborhood shop! ***I’ve since visited the store and Keith was generous with his time to explain the fireplace inserts and other tips. I was able to schedule a sweep so we could start fresh. Cute store too!

Bought a vermont bun baker oven and had it installed by the Tinderbox and had wonderful customer service all the way through. They worked with our schedule, they were timely and responsive, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone (a carpenter building my house decided to go through them as well). Will definitely be using them for future stove or chimney related services or purchases.

Went there yesterday during the weekend of skiing to look at fireplaces. We wanted to put in our new home. The owner rude and disinterested we asked if we can ask him questions and he said “ not really.” He went on to say that he was in a hurry and he didn’t have time for us. He told us to go find a place closer to home that he can’t help us. I am pretty sure he doesn’t care about reviews but we might have Bought something else.

I recently visited the place to get a price quote on a stove. The owner didn't look up from his paper work and seemed disinterested. Not a good start! His price quote was 25% higher than other retailers. Additionally, he is so busy that he wouldn't be able to do the work for a few months. I hope his customers are checking pricing before giving them the business. Not impressed.
