  Our home had a ventless gas heater in our sunroom when we purchased it. It was a bit of an eyesore and we never used it because it wasn’t particularly safe. Gary came to quote removing the heater and the gas line that ran along the wall. He discussed our options and answered all of my questions. Gary and Devyn removed the heater and the line. They were friendly, patient and thorough. I highly recommend using them.

  I reached out to all the local York fireplace companies regarding a repair and only one got back to me, Village Fireplace & Stove Center (aka Village Chimney Sweeps). From the onset, the office manager Brandy was very friendly and knowledgeable. Ended up going to their showroom where I met the owner, Gary. Gary was extremely thorough, meticulous, and detail oriented. The type of person I want to do work for me. I didn’t even bother trying to get a second quote anywhere (no one would call me back anyway!) since it was clear Gary and Brandy knew their craft extremely well and were the friendliest people around. Gary and his team did excellent work- they had to rip out an existing unit and essentially retrofit a new direct vent fireplace. And marble surround. And mantle. And exterior venting with siding. The results are phenomenal, with no complaints at all. The team doing the work was very friendly and clean. Never left a mess, and all interior and exterior work exceeded my expectations. My (crazy) dog even loved them, and we know dogs are better judges of character than humans! Would recommend Village Fireplace to anyone! The absolute best around.

  We began our journey for a heating appliance by visiting multiple woodstove stores, comparing the stats and beauty of each stove. We decided on the Blaze King (King 40) because of its world leading burn times. After we had gotten a few estimates, we decided The Village Fireplace and Stove Center would be the outlet to which we gain this warm winter comfort. They did have the best price, but ultimately the decision was made based on Gary himself. He was the one to visit the property and do the estimate. He was very professional, discussing our goals with great insight, but most of all you could tell he wasn't just there to make a sale, u could tell he actually cared, which is very rare these days, Priceless... Fast forward a year for saving and project details changing, I decided to take on the project install myself, and even though that meant less gained on his part, he still selflessly assisted us , from questions about wood processing, maintenance equipment,and building my woodshed, to purchasing the stove and materials, along with a couple install questions along the way. The project was further more painless thanks to Brandy in the office. Coordination and communication came without delay, informing me of materials arriving, balances, and pick up times available. They were paramount in the success of our project. Whether searching for chimney maintenance or a new stove, Put The Village Fireplace and Stove Center / Village Chimney Sweeps at the top of your list. You won't be disappointed.

  Th completed work exceeded my expectations. Gary, the owner and installer, was very particular and made adjustments until it was done correctly. I had visited three businesses that installed fireplace gas inserts. After talking with Brandy, the office manager, I chose to get only one estimate because she was the most knowledgeable of the three I had visited. Gary came and gave me a detailed layout of what were my best options, I chose to have them do the job because I felt comfortable I had the right company.

  Gary and his crew installed a Jotul Newcastle propane fireplace insert in my fireplace and I am very happy. They did a great job! I originally was looking at a wood insert, but, with Gary’s knowledge and experience, I decided the propane insert would be better for my application. I also purchased a Jotul Greenville wood stove for my cabin in the mountains of Virginia. Again, I am very happy with the stove and very much appreciate Gary’s assistance in choosing this product. I highly recommend this business. We are very fortunate to have them in our area!
