Steinhardt put in a whole new hvac system 6 years ago and the have supposedly performed routine maintenance 2 times per year. 18 months ago they sent a technician to my house for maintenance. He “forgot” to disconnect the power before testing the unit’s disconnect breaker. He almost blew himself and my house up. A year ago, they came out and as soon as they pulled out of the driveway, the blower unit “coincidentally” stopped working. The high was 10 degrees for days. That was $1000 in labor to fix. This year, we were told the heat exchanger was cracked. $1800 in labor. So I called another company for a second opinion. They told me that the unit installed was not sized right for my house duct work and should never have been installed. That’s why the blower unit and heat exchanger ultimately failed. To top it off they said that unit had never been properly maintained. Steinhardt is a rip off. I too called the manager but she never called me back. They suck. By the way, In Indiana, HVAC technicians do not have to be licensed. Make sure you hire a company whose technicians are formally trained and licensed. If I could give Steinhardt negative stars, I would.

Jeremy and Eli worked with precision and efficiently to install my new furnace. The kept me informed of their progress along the way and they answered my questions knowledgeably and to my complete satisfaction. They were considerate and kind as they proceeded and I couldn't be happier with the result of their work.

Steinhardt came to help us with our a/c that kept feezing up. After they inspected they found several faulty/incorrectly installed pieces in our new unit. They completely reworked our unit so that it functions perfectly! I appreciate the hard work in fixing someone else's problem and not just bandaiding it! Great and honest service.

My mother purchased a brand new Carrier unit from them on 7/25/22. She had them do Routine maintenance every year. Last Friday, 8/8 she had an appointment for routine maintenance. The unit was working fine. The technician told my mom that her compressor was bad and that he would have to order the part and replace. He turned off her unit. While carrier would replace the part, labor cost was quoted to mom as $2,031.02. In addition to this enormous labor cost, they would not be able to fix the unit until 8/12. I contacted a different local HVAC carrier approved service company. They sent out a technician Monday morning. This technician found nothing wrong with the compressor. He checked the entire system and nothing was wrong. Mom’s AC is working fine. I called Kelly at Steinhart on Monday and asked to speak with the manager. I told Kelly what the other company found and that we no longer needed their services. The managers were not available. She said she would have them call me yesterday. No phone call was received. Either Steinharts tech was incompetent or he was trying to earn a quick $2,031 for their bottom line. Now my mom is out the Steinhart service fee for 8/8 and the other company fee for 8/11. I feel they (Steinhart) need to apologize and make this right. Update on 8/14 manager Scott reached out regarding my online review. He refunded my mom’s service call from 8/8. Mom’s AC is still working fine and her compressor continues to be fine.

Jeremy and Chase installed a new Carrier mini-splitter. They both did a great job; very conscious, knowledge, hard workers, and then even did an in-service for me on the new mini-splitter.
