Bill was very helpful with service with the remote. The new batteries I had put in were a Tops brand and did not work. Switched to the better alkaline batteries that were new and everything worked good. Batteries have to be good-like a Duracell and new out of the package. Cannot be on your shelf open for a few months

Southtowns Fireplace converted my wood-burning fireplace into a gas insert. The paperwork specifically stated that we should not be in the room during installation. When he was done, we checked the work, I noticed that gas insert was too large so he had to take it out and put in a smaller one. He installed the gas insert and didn’t check for a gas leak. It was almost a month later they came to finish the installation. I asked about the gas leak when he finished his work and was ready to leave. I asked him to check for a gas leak when he finished installing. There was a gas leak. It was there since the first part of the installation. So neither times during installation of the gas insert did he check for a gas leak.

It's rare to find a business owner so honest. I had replaced my hot water tank and after the fireplace wasn't igniting. I tried to get the pilot going myself, but never having done it before, didn't want to mess around too much and emailed southtowns fireplace. Early the next morning, Bill called and told me that it would be 4 weeks until a service call. I explained the situation and he walked me through lighting the pilot manually over the phone and told me he didn't want me to have to pay the service call for just a pilot light. I'll be calling him to let him know it worked! But I wanted to leave a review because I appreciate his honesty and expertise. Thanks Bill!
