  We just had a fireplace insert put in by Ponderosa Hearth and Home. I can't say enough good things about the company or their service. First, instead of trying to upsell us, they recommended the smaller system as adequate for our room. Second, they have a subcontractor do a custom trim panel designed to fill the entire fireplace space without any filler. Third, the insert was installed ahead of schedule despite December being a busy time of year for them. Finally, we had some minor problems with the insert after it was first installed, and they came out promptly both times and fixed the problem immediately. The insert itself is now working great and is providing heat as promised!

  I am so happy with the service I received I want to shout it from the roof tops ;) I contacted Ponderosa one evening (online) to get a quote to clean & service my two gas fireplaces as well as to clean my dryer vents. I received a reply the next day with a quote I was very happy about! Service was scheduled for the following week. Juan arrived right on time- he was very professional and friendly. He did an amazing job on the fireplaces. They look brand new!!! He was fast yet efficient which I appreciate! He also cleaned out my dryer vents which have never ever been cleaned out before and my clothes are drying faster now! Over all I highly recommend Ponderosa Hearth & Home! I am extremely happy and will tell everyone to give them a call for these types of needs! Customer for life :)

  Everyone at this store was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They came and gave us a wonderful and full fireplace evaluation, and assisted us in finding a new one as well as what it would cost to rehab and make our old one safe again. They gave us all the different options we were looking for, and everything went extremely smoothly.

  --Update-- Recent experiences have been much better and they are much easier to get a hold of the last few times I've called. It seems like the previous experience may have been a one-off, I understand things happen that are beyond our control, at that time better communication would have gone a long way but either way they came through in the end. Regardless, they seem to have stepped up their game and have earned my recommendation. Jose is definitely our go-to-guy for insert parts and we will continue to support this business. --Old Review-- We are a company out of Merced, and ordered two parts and paid for them on the 27th of January. They had both items in stock and we asked them to ship to us. They took our money and sold the parts to someone else that same day. Then we call them every other day for the next week or so to ask for an update but they don't answer the phone. Last Friday we finally reach someone and were informed that they got more in stock and are shipping out our order. Another week goes by and we call again; and they say it shipped already. In fact they are so bold as to say it shipped last Friday. So today we finally get the package and the date stamped is Feb 13th, YESTERDAY. Absolutely atrocious customer service.
