  Penguin Fireplace did a great job replacing my old wood burning stove / gas starter with an EPA 2020 approved wood burning fireplace. The project required tearing out the old unit and putting in the new one, rebuilding the hearth and mantle. Through the entire process the workers were skilled, thorough, and dedicated: often staying late to complete their phase. It took 3 weeks from start to end, with work on most weekdays. Gladys, the manager, did a really good job of keeping us informed of what would be happening that day and when people would be doing work. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is time estimation. This was slated to be a one-week job, but due to a delivery delay (1 day), and what I assume was the unforseen difficulty of the installation, it slid to 3 weeks. I wish I had known this ahead of time, I think we could have scheduled better. That said, it's actually a credit to Penguin that all of their people worked so hard and refused to cut corners despite the delays, I prefer the great result I got to something faster that would not have been just right.

  We had our old gas fireplace replaced by Penguin, and they did a fantastic job. They also demoed some old built in cupboards around the fireplace. The result was a clean modern and very well finished fireplace and minimalist look. They also installed the TV, soundbar and in-wall conduits to route the wires.Very highly recommend !

  I’m happy with my new gas fireplace. The quality is good, they did a wonderful job building a custom mantel. The logistics of getting the work coordinated was a nightmare. I never knew when they would be out, I had to call them every day to figure out when I had to be home to meet them the next day. They usually showed up when the said they would. It was very pricey.

  Love this business, one of the few which focuses on doing honest work instead of just pushing to sell new unit, they came on site to diagnose the issue and fixed it on the spot. Thank you Sean and Ben!

  After reading many reviews and checking out several fireplace stores I chose Penguin. I liked the emphasis on customer service, the fact that it is family-run, and that they feature Mendota gas inserts which are beautiful and offer many options. Ephrain is a delight to work with. He came to measure the fireplace, discuss the job and gave it careful thought. Gladys then gave me much additional information as I thought through the options, and Eric helped me select the traditional full insert when I came into the showroom. I especially appreciated Penguin’s dedication to customer service when I changed my mind about Penguin doing the tile work at the last minute. This was very inconvenient for them but they were gracious and made sure the new tile installers had all the information they needed to do a great job. And Ephrain came back to install the doors after the tile work was done, taking extra care that they were hung correctly and taking extra time to show me the details of the remote control I admire the approach Penguin Fireplace takes and I am thrilled with my new fireplace. It makes a big difference when the people running an operation have great values. I highly recommend Penguin Fireplace.
