We called to have a unit installed in a new residential construction and could not have been more pleased. Their estimate came in below everyone else’s they were prompt, courteous, and willing to work with us. They did a great job of explaining the process and making suggestions that would make our home more energy efficient. Dave and crew were professional and efficient. Highly recommend!

Buyer Beware!! I am rating them a one (1) only because zero (0) is not an option. My nightmare with this business began when my Heat pump was not providing heat, only a rattling noise. Contacted Eastern Panhandle Heating & Cooling, LLC and they set an appointment for Monday, I took off work and they sent a technician to my home. He opened a panel, confirmed the fan motor was not working and said I needed a new one. I paid them $127 for the visit. Got a call from Samantha from their office confirming that I was going to pay for the part. She estimated anywhere from $200 to $600, I informed her that I needed the system fixed so my pipes did not freeze. She called back in about an hour and told me that it was more expensive than she told me, $1100 for the motor, $1489 for the job. I asked if she had any other recommendations, put me on hold and told me that I could get a new system installed for just $1900 and that had a 10 year warranty. They could also do the work the next day. I asked if it was compatible with my outside unit, back on hold and then said, yes, it would connect to everything that I already had. I took off a second day from work. The next day, they returned, removed my unit and installed the new unit. They couldn’t get it running, had two more technicians show up, then leave and at the end of the day, system not working, said a different technician would be there tomorrow. I took a third day off of work. Two technicians showed up. I told them that I was told the new system would connect to all of my existing equipment and I see that they removed my programable thermostat and replaced it with a cheap, bottom of the line thermostat that I could pick up at Lowes. I was then told that the new system was not compatible with my existing components and they were going to remove the new unit and replace it with my old unit and a new motor for $1489. I got a call from the office, a lady named (Chrissy?, Christa? or Chris?). I understood she was the office manager and when she told me the price, I asked if she was going to make any allowances for all the time that I missed work? She told me that this was Samantha's fault, she should not have sold me the different unit as she was just an office girl. I told Christa that Samantha was talking with a technician that told her it would work and she was simply looking out for the financial position of the business by trying to up sell a customer. The technician returned, installed my old system, minus a few missing panels that got discarded. I never received a call from the company management/ownership apologizing or to ask what they could do to make it right and keep my business. I do not know why this company treats veterans, especially disabled veterans with such disrespect. Normally businesses are very appreciative for and respectful towards veterans. I have sent my story to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which they are NOT a member, to the Maryland Veteran Affairs, I have property in Maryland, to the West Virginia Veterans Affairs as well as Notifying the Woods Community Home Owners Association (HOA), alerting people of how this business is poorly managed and takes advantage of customers. Finally, I have alerted my fellow parishioners at Hedgesville Chapel, making an announcement and posting a copy of my letter on our information board in the parish hall. Absolutely DO NOT USE this business, I have never experienced this type of poor service.

In December I contacted them again letting them know that I was ready to have the replacement stove installed, we set up an appointment for December 31st, 2023, to have it installed. That morning they were supposed to be there at 8 am, I called at 8:15 am to be told that not all the parts had been delivered and that they would contact me when they had everything. For multiple appointments after that it was delayed due to weather, or some other issue and I was either called 15 minutes prior to the appointment, 15 minutes after the appointment, or I had to call them see if they were coming. This went on for three or four appointments. On January 31st, 2024, the stove was finally installed. My appointment was for 8 am and they showed up at 9:38 AM and they were there until 2:30 PM installing the replacement heating stove. During that time, they made modifications to my stove without my approval first, by cutting out sections of what they said was rusted material on the inside and broke the one/off switch on the back, which they suggested all I needed to do was touch the two wires together to start the stove. When I protested that option they searched for a switch in their van and haphazardly installed a semi working switch on the back and left the wires hanging. On Monday February 12th, 2023, we had a rainstorm followed by some snow. I work second shift and I got home at 12 am and realized that there was a massive water leak from the new chimney that they installed. I called the answering service for the HVAC company, and they assured me that I would receive a call the next day. The next day came, and I called them because I had not heard back, and I was told that they did not receive the information call from the night before. I told them that I had a massive leak and that I needed it looked at and that I would like them to bring along a general contractor to assess the damages. I was told that they only had one tech that day and that he was over an hour away and that they would not be about to come out until the next day, Wednesday February 14th, 2024. That same say I contacted my insurance company, and they told me that it would be best if I worked it out with Eastern Panhandle Heating and Cooling LLC. I did ask if they could recommend a roofing inspector to come out and to assess the damages done to the roof of the house. I have pictures and video of the water coming in through where they installed the new chimney. Eastern Panhandle came out on Wednesday the 14th, I was assured that they would be there at 8AM, they did not show till almost 11AM. He came inside the house and took pictures for 10 mins and then sat in his van for another 15 and then left. The roofing company that I had called came out to assess the roof at 11:30 AM and quoted me $350 to fix the roof. Eastern Panhandle has agreed to pay for the roof repair. But the stove has taken the brunt of the issue. All the water was dripping down on top of it, before splashing onto the walls and floor. Before that the stove had a small rust ring on the front left side due to the previous owner had used a kettle on it when it was used. Now, after all the potential water damage that has been done, Eastern Panhandle is refusing to pay for any other damages besides the roof. The reason the roof is leaking is because the flashing that is supposed to be under the shingles was glued on top of the shingles. You can see it in the attached pictures. I can not be convinced that this was an accident. I have asked for a minimum of the electrical parts on the back of the stove to be replaced or I have accepted that they can pay to have the stove replaced. There has been no offer of a refund of any of my money. I was charged $1,500 for the job. Which I think is unacceptable.

Great and fast customer service! I had to have my home hvac unit replaced in late July, the staff were quick to respond to my request and made the process simple. A few weeks later my church’s hvac unit went out on Wednesday night, they were the first and only company we called! They had us up and fixed the next day! Thanks to them we were able to hold service that Sunday!

I would highly recommend Eqatern Panhandle Heating and Cooling. They put a heat pump in my home which is over 100 years old. They ran duct through out installed the unit and put vents in all areas. They accomplished something that I wasn't quite sure could be done. The entire process was seamless. Thank you Eastern Panhandle Heating and Cooling for making my home comfortable for app seasons
