  I purchased a Vermont Casting wood stove from Michiana Fireplace in 2022. This was an entirely new system for my home. I had a Vermont Casting stove in my previous home and never had an issue. Unfortunately, the fresh air vent that is required allows both COLD AIR & WATER into my home, negating the efficiency of the stove since my furnace is running since there is so much cold air coming into my home. I find it very difficult to believe that the stove was installed properly. After my first complaint, they came out and applied silicone caulk on the outside of the vent but water was still pooling under the stove after rain and then later came out to adjust the intake vent. I woke up again this January to find frost covering the vent. The vent pipe is made of a super thin (cheap) corrugated metal. The management team has been great with responding to my concerns but for the amount of money that I spent, I shouldn't be having these kind of issues...especially for this length of time. I'm not sure why the work wasn't done properly in the first place. They installed a brand new smoke stack and they managed to put a decent size dent in it but failed to tell me. Lastly, I had to push back when I received the final bill. Despite the estimate being itemized, there was an attempt to over charge me for two different items. They were indicating that the items were not included in the estimate but they actually were. If I wasn't on top of things, I would have been out even more money. I wish that I would have had a better experience.

  Excellent work retrofitting a gas fireplace/stove in our house in St. Joe. Not just for aesthetics but helps for those icy cold Lake Michigan winter nights. Makes the place comfortable and attractive. Great work and great price on install. THANK YOU!!

  I’m a contractor went in with my father. Was instantly treated with respect and like family. Had questions that other places couldn’t answer. Bob is a professional in what he does and is very knowledgeable. I value knowledge that comes with experience hard to find these days. Bob treats people with respect also hard to find. If your a contractor or a homeowner get in there! Bob takes care of his customers.
