If you want a dependable alert system, the Marcell Pro from Sensored Life is the way to go. With email and text alerts, nothing will be missed. We’ve tried others and these are our favorites!!

While you do reliably get notifications of power outages you have to Understand that the device has a battery life of 24 - 48 hours. If you experience a prolonged power outage you will not be able to track whether or not the temperature in your cottage is falling to critical levels, which in my opinion defeats the purpose of the device. Nor can it tell you when the power comes back on whether the temperature dropped below freezing as it stopped recording when battery power was lost.
