  Received my mantle from mantle direct, but it was via Lowe’s. The box was perfectly intact no problem whatsoever. When we took the mantle out, there was a hole in the wood itself. After reading reviews and seeing that the company makes you pay for shipping to get it back, my husband already decided to go ahead and fix it ourselves with some wood putty. After spending over $175 on it I expected better.

  Stay away from that company. low quality, cheap materials, not fair prices. I got badly fabricated item for huge amount of money. Average handyman can do better job for sure.

  DO NOT ORDER HERE! Long story short, I ordered a ~$350 mantle that doesn't mount properly and they are making me pay over $100 to ship it back to them. Manager Lynda Gilmer is who I spoke with and was not helpful at all. I purchased the mantle and was very happy with how it looked. When I went to mount it, I found out that it did not sit well on the mounting bracket to the point where any amount of weight on top would cause it to fall off the wall (and I've mounted plenty of floating shelves before). When I called, they tried to gaslight me and tell me I didn't install it correctly and that the instructions said I have to drill screws into the mounting bracket from the top of the mantel but that is not true (I specifically checked before purchasing). While they were willing to issue a refund (after multiple calls), they then refused to cover the cost to return the defunct and hazardous item! Their policy is that the customer has to pay for shipping; however, that should not apply when the item is broken. They even sent me an email with return info stating the reason for return as buyers remorse. The only thing I am remorseful about is the fact that I ever clicked on this company's website.

  Mantels Direct. Easy ordering of the Eastman Shelving Mantel via computer, came within the time scheduled via Federal Express and it was packaged extremely safely with no imperfections and hung easily in our den -- except that as we were reading the instructions it was noted that the shelving DID NOT come with any hardware and we had to stop and to go Home Depot to get the toggle bolts, washers, screws and drill bit which wasn't expensive around $10.00 we we got it done. Excellent finish on the wood and just like the picture on the website. Would recommend this company to anyone looking for mantels, shelving, etc. Pam Phillips, Nashville, TN.

  Do not order from here. They lie about their return policy and I had to pay $110 to ship the mantle back. I did that and they said it’s damaged. They sent photos with no damage just the normal wood seam. They will but refund my $500 and they have the mantle.
