  I had an awesome experience here with Mark and Chris. I was having an issue with a part for my gas fireplace and could not find it anywhere. I came across Hearthside, gave them a call and immediately they were very helpful. I decided to take my part to their store and received five star hands on assistance.

  After Fireside in Arnold closed down I was referred here to have a tiny Vermont Castings wood stove installed in my home. I live in Webster Groves where they are very difficult to get permits and I explained this from the start. I was approved for the permit it was just a matter of having whatever contractor I was working with get the needed licensing, etc. Hearthside reassured me they could do the work and they came and did an inspection of my home. I was in contact with Chris Morgan and Mark Urban via email and phone. At a certain point in the process I hadn’t heard from them in 2 weeks and I called to get an update but didn’t hear back for over a week. Then I called after a few days I emailed and they told me how difficult Webster was to work with and they’d done tons of work in STL county and never had these issues. They had all the licensing but Webster Groves required additional forms as a Transient Employer status from the Missouri Department of Revenue so they were waiting on this. 10 days goes by and I ask for an update again to get no response. I call and the woman at the phone says they’ll call me back. I email again 6 days later and get no response. Finally, 22 days after my email asking for an update I told them they could discontinue working on it since they haven’t responded. To this day I have not received any communication whatsoever. Now we are in the peak of the season and I’m having a hard time getting anyone to install anything this winter. I am very empathetic to the fact that Webster Groves is extremely strict and difficult to work with. They are miserable. But what am is supposed to do? I have never been ghosted so blatantly by a company. To not even tell me that they no longer want to the job is so unprofessional. Thank god I didn’t give them a deposit. Can’t express my dissatisfaction enough. Would never recommend this company to anyone. For reference: first time I contacted them was 8/19/2025 and the last time they contacted me was 10/6/2025. The last time I reached out asking for an update was 10/23/2025 and I told them to quit working on it 10/28/2025. Ginormous waste of my time.

  Unreliabke customer service! We went to the store, scheduled an appt for them to come out and measure. We were told the guy coming would bring samples. No, he brought nothing. Then he said someone would call us the next day. It’s been two weeks and still no correspondence.

  They converted my fireplace to a gas insert 2 years ago and it works great.So today they serviced,cleaned and inspected it and even replaced the remote batteries.Brett was polite,competent,neat, and friendly.Yes I recommend them highly.
