  Update: I am preparing several lawsuits against this company. If you too have been scammed you can find me on the Cheboygan page and we can all individually file claims for each time we have been scammed. I hate to see a business scam our community like this and something needs to be done about it. I am a local to Cheboygan who also has fallen victim to not knowing the service comes out of Gaylord so you have double the minimum service charge. When I scheduled service I wasn't told this, but was told later. A call to Emmet Brick and Block was 100x more valuable for free than a $300+ service call and materials with tax (when no materials were used) all for the service person to tell me to repair it myself. $300+ and the service call lasted 5 minutes, I have the arrive and depart times timestamped on my camera. I thought I would be using a locally owned service but I was baited and switched like the majority of reviews here. Go back to Gaylord and stay there instead of utilizing a bait and switch to maintain margins. If I get bored enough, after I finish my recent lawsuit towards McLaren, this business may be on my radar next because I will be able to get a decent amount of locals on board.

  READ B4 YOU BUY A FIREPLACE!!!!!! Pray you don’t need anything fixed! I bought an $8000 gas insert fireplace… They didn’t plug the blower in when they installed it. When I needed them to come out and plug the blower in they charged me $300 just to show up at my house because I am in Cheboygan, the store I bought it from is in Cheboygan, and the Fireside Hearth and Leisure repair people are in Gaylord and apparently they charge by the mile… That doesn’t include the $130 for the first half hour And $30 every subsequent 15 minutes? Yup! This was because they don’t install it correctly!!!! So that was last year and I sucked it up… now the fireplace isn’t starting, and I’m gonna have to spend to get them out here again and Matt the repair guy is very clear that I should expect to pay for parts, labor, time, transportation… He basically is trying to get me to not hire him because he probably doesn’t want to come out here! I’d love to have another option!!!! I don’t, nor will you!!!! So buy from somebody else where you can get it repaired locally! Its a beautiful very expensive fireplace… too bad it’s busted!

  I feel service was below average, probably due to employee issues at the Gaylord office. I decided to a DIY job...disappointing.

  The entire staff is knowledgeable and helpful! We purchase multiple units for multiple projects, Bob is very good at getting the correct parts and pieces needed for a flawless installation. The installation crew gets to us fast, and does a fantastic job.

  Do NOT buy from this store! The worst customer service I have ever experienced. It’s especially bad when a manager lies to you, says he has your check only to find out it was cashed four days prior! Then he doesn’t even know where refund checks are distributed from!!! Oh, and he even accused me of taking things from the store!!! I only wish I had heard my neighbors terrible experience there first, then I would have avoided even going in there. BUYER BEWARE!
