I decided to have metal doors with glass made for my heatilator fireplace.(the 1950's answer to a firepalce insert) I commissioned an artist to make steel doors for the arched opening and went with installing the glass myself. Knowing how hot the firebox will get I went with ceramic glass. The glass came quickly & very well packed. I installed the fiberglass rope from the company. I've had a number of charming fires now with doors both open and closed. It was a perfect solution 40 years in the making!!!

The Glass arrived on a timely basis but the fabric that I ordered didn't arrive. I called and was told it wasn’t ordered & I wasn’t going to argue , ok I still need it. The measurement of my existing fabric was 1 3/8” and said this is what I want. The lady I was speaking with said she showed the most popular size for this size fireplace glass was 5/8” . I asked if it was going to fit my glass correctly , Yes it will fit the glass. The lady I ordered from was no longer with the company. The fabric needs to wrap around the glass since it sits on a screw and a wing nut tightens and holds the glass firmly. The fabric is way too small to glue around the glass, but when I called back was told the fabric was not returnable. This is just wonderful since I spent $34.00 plus shipping and it’s useless ! I now have to find another company to sell me the size that I wanted. The photo is of the glass still in the box.
