I noticed that there were cracks in the mortar on the bottom of my fireplace. I was referred to Dr. Sweep. They were on time and did a great job cleaning the chimney. It was when the camera came out that things took a turn. I want to keep the fireplace wood burning. I enjoy getting the wood with my boys and the whole process of having a natural fire is enjoyable to our family. He shows me 3 or 4 blurry pictures on a camera they send up the chimney. He starts talking about replacing with gas for $4500.00 and that it would cost $10,000 to make the chimeny and fireplace safe to use again. He then tells me that I have to sign a piece of paper stating that the fireplace is unsafe to use. It escalataed very quickly. I decided to do some research on average cost of a chimney liner and some of the things on the quote. It became very clear that the cost was really high. They quoted 35 ft of stainless steel liner and tons of other questionable things started presenting themselves. I called a 2nd company to come take a look and inspect. They said to absolutely fix the mortar in the fireplace on the bottom but that the rest of the firebox and chimney looks fine and safe to them. They used some other choice words about the tactics these guys were using. I would not recommend. The cost to fix the mortar was $200.00. Be careful.

They did a fantastic job with a fireplace repair for us. We had an issue with a small gas smell after the installation and they immediately came out and fixed the problem free of charge. They stand behind their work. This is a great business and I highly recommend them!

Had these guys come out about 3 weeks ago and noticed they missed something. I have a trap in that leads down to my basement for the ash. I cleaned out almost 3 bags worth of ash. Charged $189 for a cleaning and they didn't even get the biggest part. They guy that came out said he only had about a years experience. I don't fault him. I just want this corrected in the future

I needed to have a chimney cap replaced and a fireplace inspection and cleanout. I was quoted over $1000 for a furnace chimney cap from a Birmingham HVAC company. The technician (Randy) upon inspection found that I had a cap thus not needing replacement. He then informed me that if I had, it would have been 1/3 of the price that the HVAC company quoted me! He then took care of the fireplace and gave a thorough inspection. He then cleaned it out and patiently explained to me the steps he was taking to get it ready for me to use and how to use it. I highly recommend this company!
