My experience was horrible. If you have the opportunity to get your pellet stove from a different supplier, I would highly recommend it. The short story. I ordered it in Fall and due to uncountable errors, the install wasn't completed until Spring. I've seen entire houses built faster. Not a pleasant experience and I blame it all on office incompetence. The final product looks great, but Costello's did not make it easy. And they still think they are owed money for a part that an installer had retrieved on the second install attempt. I have to laugh. Please go to anyone else.

I wanted to share my experience with getting a pellet stove installed by Costello’s Hearth and Spa through Ace Hardware. I’m giving them a solid 3-star rating. Positives: The staff, at Ace, Costello’s and the installers (forgot the name), were very friendly and responsive. They promptly addressed the issues I raised, which I’ll detail below. Negatives: Note: first install date - 7/23 and project completed 10/17 (long 3 month period due to delays noted below) The project had delays due to a few errors. First, the hearth initially installed had the wrong finish, causing weeks of delay while they reordered the correct one. Thankfully, they fixed this at no extra cost as this was an issue not caused by myself. The stove was also installed incorrectly, with the surround recessed into the fireplace, which I am still confused as to why that was not questioned by the installers. – When I say recessed I mean the pellet stove’s surround was like in the fireplace… The stove veneer was sticking out past the pellet stove surround. After I called Costello’s, they quickly sent the team back to adjust it, again at no charge. Finally, communication between Costello’s and their installers could be improved. For example, I scheduled the install over two visits to allow for a chute inspection by the county. At first, they tried to install everything during the first stie visit (keep in mind, I paid like 150 so they would come out twice). Then for the second site visit, the installers arrived unaware of what had to be done. I was also told a small piece of HardieBacker would be installed if I left it on-site (stone veneer had to be resized for pellet stove), but this was never done as the installers weren’t informed. This wasn’t a big issue as outside of scope and I ended up handling it myself which only took 10 minutes. But would have been a nice experience if they did it. Conclusion: The issues caused some stress and added time, but ultimately, Costello’s addressed everything, and the stove looks great now. In hindsight, I would go with them again due to a good price but would keep in touch more and oversee the project to ensure fewer errors.

My 20 year old pellet stove wouldn't work. I called Costello''s Hearth and Spa. They sent a technician to my house and he verified the control board was bad. So he ordered the part and a few days later, 2 technicians came to the house, installed it and now it is good for another 20 years. Thank you Costello's hearth and Spa for your quick response and fixing my pellet stove!

Bought a Vermont Fireplace for our recently restored 120 year old fireplace. Got great service from Ms. Bell as she answered all of our questions. She was very knowledge able about the product, got us in and out without delay and because of this we got exactly what we wanted! Highly recommend.
