  We purchased the Vermont Castings Defiant wood stove last fall, and it has been exceptional. It heats our entire home with ease, and one of its best features is the ability to load wood from the top—no need to open the front doors. Craig and his wife, Laurie, were a pleasure to work with. They answered all of our questions and made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. In addition to the wood stove, we also added a gas fireplace, and they recommended a beautiful mantel that looks like real wood but is fire-rated. We couldn’t be happier with both the products and the service. Highly recommended!

  Had a great experience with this company. Knowledgeable, willing to help, not pushy. Prompt on the install and installers very reputable. Leaving 1 Star off because I didn't realize the unit would make a beep noise every time the pilot lit and then again when the main part lit. Was not warned about that. Extremely annoying. Other than that, all good.

  If I could score this review with zero stars I absolutely would. Do not do business with this company or the people associated with it. In April of 2022 My wife and I purchased a Harmon Elite 50 from them. In June of 2022 Shingle Me came and installed a new roof on my house, which turned out beautiful. Shortly thereafter the Alaska Company came to install my Harmon pellet stove. The installer proceeded to cut a hole in my brand new roof with sawzall instead of a hole saw. My wife put in a complaint to the owners. There were just interested in getting their money and not fixing what their installer did to my new roof. We refused to pay the remaining balance owed until the roof got fixed. This pissed off the owners who then threatened legal action, which we welcomed!! They now ignore our phone calls to have a technician come and service the pellet stove. In the pictures attached you can see where the installer spray painted around the chimney to mark were he cut into the roof. You can also see daylight in the photos of the chimney from the inside which would have surely leaked had it not been correct.

  Excellent company and amazing staff! Craig, Gus, and Frank were the three gentlemen we dealt with during this process! My husband and I just purchased a home in the hideout, we had a fireplace from 1987 which was not giving us the heat we needed, so we had Craig in for an estimate, really great guy and very informative for what we needed.. we ended up going with a blaze king wood burning insert with new stone (pics of before and after) Although the whole process took longer than normal because of covid, (4momths).... Gus was nice enough to give us his email address so he could keep us informed every step of the way with our stuff arriving to the warehouse to schedule install. Finally everything came in and we were able to get the work done! We are extremely happy with the work of Frank and his helper! Great team, they were extremely neat and clean! By the 2nd day of work they were done and my living room looked like nothing ever happened to it as far as cleanliness goes! That was a plus for me! Anyway, sorry for the long review just wanted to share my experience, if your looking for talented people to do a great job, Alaska is your place! Just be patient with the work to be done, its covids fault not theirs! 🙂

  2 stars because the gentleman that was there smiled and spoke well when I walked in. The missing stars are because once I mentioned only needing parts not the service and had a question, I was told someone would have to call me back.... A week now, still waiting 🤔 ....moving on ...would've liked a local place - oh well.
