We had an issue returning some extra chimney flue pieces after we had a terrible wind storm/tornado throw a steel barn roof at our house. We over ordered to ensure we had enough. It took multiple attempts with two different people at Acucraft over several months to finally work out a resolution. We are satisfied overall with our fireplace going into our second winter. The one remaining issue was some rust coming through the face of 1 side, which may have been caused during our surrounding masonry work. Acucraft agreed to provide touchup paint for this.

Update: My Acucraft fireplace is now working properly and it is beautiful. After lots of input from the service team at Acucraft, we learned that there was a problem with the venting of our chimney and not an issue with the fireplace or log set. I am grateful for the expertise and continued support from Justin and the team at Acucraft for working with me to figure this all out. I would highly recommend the product and the service team at Acucraft. Since my review, Acucraft has been actively working with me to get my fireplace up and running. I will update again in more detail soon. I have been trying to convert my beautiful 48" Hearthroom fireplace to a propane logset, since November. The fireplace is beautiful and the customer service has been responsive, however the problem is not being solved, and I am beginning to wonder about the integrity of the company. I purchased my logset burner kit through Acucraft, they manufactured the fireplace and I felt they would know best. My fireplace, and home, are covered with soot after only two burn hours with the new logset. I have spent hours and about 20 emails communicating with Acucraft advisors, with no forward movement. I have had the local gas company here 4 times to carry out possible solutions suggested by Acucraft advisors, which has been an expense to me, and nothing has changed. The fireplace glass doors, the inside bricks and the logset are just covered in soot - nothing like the lovely logset videos that Acucraft has posted. I am going to continue to try to right this with more phone calls and emails and will update my review with the end result. Just wanted to post my concerns in case you are considering converting your Hearthroom fireplace to gas/propane.

First picture was the fireplace installed and operational during construction. Second picture is following construction and turnover to the client. Third picture is days following the second picture and the unit as it stands today, non functioning. Suggestion is if you are planning to buy from Acucraft look for someone locally first. Service has been a nightmare and costly from my end. Very little assistance from the manufacturer. I have spend hours trying to figure out the cause of the unit malfunctioning as well as building engineer, plumber, HVAC contractor and electrician. Everyone across the board is losing money except for Acucraft, as they required payment in full prior to shipping the unit.

My husband and I needed a new fireplace. Our mason recommended Acucraft. We were excited that they manufactured fireplaces in Minnesota, our home state. My husband and I toured the manufacturing plant. We were very impressed. Acucraft was very helpful in selecting the best fireplace for our home. We bought an American Single Door wood fireplace. We had a unique situation. Our old fireplace needed to be replaced. The American Acucraft had a chimney flue liner with an 8 inch interior diameter and an 11 in exterior diameter. It was small enough to fit inside our current chimney. We are now using our fireplace and loving it. It provides the warmth we need. The added bonus is the ability to keep the fireplace door open while roast marshmallows with the grandchildren. My husband and I give Acucraft our highest recommendation. They have an amazing product and unbeatable service.

It’s been 16 years and approximately 1,000 +fires in our Z-MAX, 2500 sq’, 26’ ceilings and still keeping us cozy on those cold smoky mountain days and nights. I repaired the door frame where the handle goes thru the frame, it oblonged after all those fires. Other than that absolutely nothing has been an issue. The glass shows very little wear, the fans still hum like new. It’s just as efficient as when new. As I’ve stated previously, a fine piece of engineering! Sincerely, Mike Bowen.
