I can't recommend this service more. They were able to come by the same day I called. Our technician arrived promptly and although our problem was more challenging than I had thought at first, the technician took the time needed to diagnose and fix it the same day! Pricing was very reasonable as well, especially given the difficulty of the repair. 10/10!

When we moved to Grass Valley six years ago, our home had a propane powered fireplace insert which was fine for an occasional fire to have in the living room. However, since we've lived here, we have had multiple times when our power has been out for extended periods of time (sometimes as long as two weeks). Although the propane fireplace would work with the power out, it does not provide a lot of heat (especially without the blower running). This year we decided it was time to convert our fireplace back to wood burning and we decided to get a wood burning insert. We shopped around a bit and eventually decided to go with Abercrombie & Co. Stoves and Awnings. We had previously used Abercrombie when we needed to locate some switches for our powered sunshades but not for any major projects. When we ordered the switches, they were very helpful. We walked into the store, which had recently moved from Penn Valley to Grass Valley, and spoke with Chad. He was very helpful and explained everything and said he would come out to our house to give a free quote (some other companies charge to come out for the quote). Chad arrived at our house exactly when he said he would and gave us a quote that we found reasonable so we decided to go ahead with the project. Chad said it could be up to a month for the insert to arrive but he called about a week later to say the insert arrived and we scheduled the installation. On the day of the installation, Chad, Aaron, and Dominic arrived early and got to work. They were all quick, friendly, and professional and soon the insert was ready to go. The insert was installed perfectly and looks great. When the insert was installed, Chad and Dominic told us we should burn our first fire when we were able to leave all our windows open because the paint finish needs to cure and it can emit an odor. Since our insert was installed in the Summer, it was awhile before we were able to have a fire. On September 17, we had a fairly cool day and we decided to have our first fire to cure the paint. Everything went perfectly and the insert worked exactly how it should. Although our insert was installed on July 17, 2024, I did not want to submit a review until we actually used the insert. Now that we have, I can say that the Pacific Energy insert and Abercrombie and Co. are both excellent. I would definitely recommend both.

We worked with Abercrombie on an awning for my mom’s small house which gets lots of direct sun. They came out quickly and were super helpful in choosing the correct awning and fabric. You can tell they’ve been doing this a long time. Really great service. Professional, on time, honest and friendly. Highly recommend

Just had three new Abercrombie fireplaces installed at our new home at Lake Wildwood, Penn Valley; excellent workmanship, support and quality; one in living room, convection fireplace in basement and see through fireplace in between den and master!

Purchased our fireplace from Abercrombie & Co over 15 years ago. Still love it! We have had them come every few years to clean it. We don’t realize how dirty it is until they come and clean it! Couldn’t be happier with their service over the years.
